Acoustic Apple at EMJC - 9/10/15

Kirsten Maxwell and "Midnight Mike" Pokalsky joined Steve and Gary for a Concert Celebration of Folk, Americana, Roots and Bluegrass Music on 9/10/15 at the East Meadow Jewish Center.  With an audience of more than 100 (about twice what we expected), it was a great night of music.  3-part harmonies were perfect (thank you, Kirsten!!), and Mike's Bass and Dobro were a welcome addition.  A big Thank You to the gang at the Barrel Inn for coming out to support us.

New Studio Recording "Wait A Minute"

Steve and Gary attended the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Framingham, MA February 12-15.  We heard Seldom Scene cover Herb Pedersen's song "Wait A Minute" in a Vocal Harmony Workshop and again on the Main Stage.  Gary couldn't wait to try to cover this great song, so Gary prepared a multi-track version of the song for the Acoustic Apple website.  When Steve and Gary work out the duet harmonies and some solo breaks, we will re-record the song together.  Meanwhile, a temporary "studio" version of the song has been added to the Music page.

Full house at the Eclectic Cafe Saturday night

Acoustic Apple played the opening set for He-Bird, She-Bird to a packed room at the Eclectic Cafe Saturday night.  Todd, Terri and Christine joined us on stage for "Lonesome Pine" (Blue Highway) and added fabulous harmonies and a top-notch guitar solo.  We joined the headliners on stage for their closing number "Nothing You Can't Lose" (The Steel Wheels) and added a cool banjo solo and guitar bass line.  Great Night!!
